Plane crash in China: AFP quoted a villager as saying the plane had “completely collapsed” and he saw a nearby forest area devastated by fire.

NEW DELHI: A China Eastern Airlines passenger plane with 132 people on board plunged into the mountains today, plummeting directly to the ground in chilling footage captured by surveillance cameras.
The video was reportedly captured by surveillance cameras from a local mining company.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China said the Boeing 737 “lost air contact over Wuzhou” in the Guangxi region while flying from Kunming to Guangzhou. The plane crashed in Teng County, near Wuzhou, sparking a mountain fire. Rescuers reportedly found no signs of survivors.

Flight Mu5735 dived at breakneck speed in the final seconds before crashing into the mountains.

Flight tracker FlightRadar24 showed the plane plummeted from an altitude of 29,100 feet to 9,075 feet in 2.15 minutes. In another 20 seconds, it will be at 3,225 feet before the flight information stops.

Altitude descent from cruising to landing usually takes about 30 minutes.

Local media reported that China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735 failed to arrive in Guangzhou as scheduled after taking off from Kunming at 1 p.m., sparking fears of a plane crash.

After FlightRadar24 arrived in Wuzhou, it stopped showing data for MU5735 after 14:22 local time.
