Chris Askew roanoke dead and obituary, VA, Cave Spring HS football

Chris Askew died suddenly; he was a great and amazing friend to many. Askew was a Cave Spring High School teacher and football coach from Roanoke, Virginia. His passing led family and friends to mourn unexpectedly in sorrow.

The community has been deeply saddened by the loss of Chris Askew. Friends and family posted their condolences on social media; they have requested additional information about a GoFundMe account that the family may have set up.

Although the family didn’t release the cause of death at the time of this article, we know very little about the circumstances surrounding Chris’s death.

On May 12, 2019, Christopher Askew’s obituary was written. He died after a short battle with cancer; he was 45 years old and lived in Westlake, OH. Askew was born on January 6, 1966 in Oklahoma City to Jay and Ruthann Askew. He had one brother named Bart.

Chris graduated from Irving, Texas’ MacArthur High School; he graduated class 1990 from Texas A&M University with a degree in Business Management. During his time at MacArthur High, Chris played basketball, football and baseball.

Chris Askew was married to Jennifer Lange Askew in 1994; they had two children, Lauren and Luke. Additionally, he was preceded in death by several extended family members and friends. These include his grandparents Josephine Rogers Askew and J. Haskell Askew, as well as his parents John W. Dwyer and Hope Reed Dwyer.

Chris earned a real estate broker’s license after years of service as a fire chief for the people of the Westlake area. As a former professional golfer, Chris still enjoyed playing the game.
