He served both roles for almost 25 years until selling out the magazine. He became synonymous with Baylor coverage in his role along with Waco paper. He managed his appearances at several athlete events until his death. In 1993, he retired from the newspaper.
Dave Campbell was born in 1925 in Waco. He never shifted from there and always lived in his hometown. However, he served in the Army for 3 years during World War II where he gained a bronze star.
