One of the most reputed and renowned production banners Disney is gearing up for its upcoming mystery thriller titled Death on the Nile based on the 1937 novel of the same. The movie is scheduled for its theatrical release in 2022. However, the movie is surrounded by some controversies even before its release because of one of its lead actors. The movie recently fetched the attention of the audience with its latest trailer released on Tuesday getting a favourable response from the audience. Well, as of now, Disney is trying to hide Hammer. As per the reports, the actor Hammer is going to share the screens along with some of the significant Hollywood stars including Gal Gadot, Tom Bateman, and Letitia Wright. The movie enlisted to embark on is a theatrical journey in February assumed to coincide with Valentine’s day 2022. Besides, Hammer was accused by various women of emotional assault and rape. This allegation puts Hammer in a stern situation. Along with the actor, the production banner also faced many obstacles as it continued with the actor for its upcoming release.
The entire incident of alleging Hammer took place in April, although the actor denied all the allegations. The situation gets grimmer when a woman named Effie alleged asserted that Hammer raped her. These allegations create controversy for the actor as he got dropped from numerous movies and TV shows including Shotgun Wedding featuring Jennifer Lopez and The Godfather series. If we talk about the Death of the Nile the movie was initially planned to release in 2020 halted long due to the Pandemic and the up-mentioned controversy. Disney also considered reshooting the movie with a different star. Apart from that production house thought to use another digital technology but dropped the plan after finding out the consequences.
Disney later decided to sell the digital rights to the streaming site, but after going through all the options it proceed with the Death of the Nile. As of now, the movie is all set for its release on 11 February 2021. Helmed by Kenneth Branagh and produced by Kevin J. Walsh under the production banner of Kinberg Genre and TSG Entertainment. The screenplay of the movie is handled by Michael Green. Along with Armie Hammer, the movie features Emma Mackey, Annette Bening, and Ali Fazal in vital roles.
