On Friday, November 26, the Puno film producer Óscar Catacora, director of Wiñaypacha, the first Peruvian film spoken in Aymara, passed away. The production company Cine Aymara was in charge of announcing the unfortunate loss through a statement.

The statement said: “We are very sorry to announce that our director died suddenly from health problems while filming his new film in the province of El Collao.”

Oscar Quispe Catacora (Oscar Quispe Catacora) was born on August 18, 1987 in the Huaychani community of the Akola district (Puno), the son of two farmers; From the age of 7 he began to live and work due to family problems.

In 2009, he entered the School of Art at National Highland University, majoring in theater, driven by acting, theater, and art; this will later be reflected in part of his training.

However, due to internal political issues, he dropped out in the eighth semester. He joined the Peruvian army and served in Chalapalca.
