Heat star Jimmy Butler looked a little different in his first media interview ahead of the 2022-23 season on Monday — his new hairstyle went viral on social media.
Butler, who appears to have hair extensions, officially debuted over the summer with photos of the different looks that popped up on social media. Butler said the changes he made to his hair were meant to annoy fans. Also, he seems to jokingly dismiss the notion that he has an extension.
"I'm just messing with stuff to make the internet mad. That was my goal this summer and it worked."

“I didn’t have an extension,” Butler said. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ve tried a lot of new looks. Do you like my baby-faced assassin look? Kinda cute, no? I really don’t know. I’m not even thinking about it. I’m just messing around with some Stuff to drive the internet crazy. That was my goal this summer, and it worked.”
Butler also shaved off his beard and said he’s not sure if he’ll keep the new hairstyle when the season starts. However, Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks tweeted that Butler told her he wouldn’t keep the new haircut for the regular season.
Clearly, the internet is fun and it lasts well.
