Castle High School, Newburgh, Indiana is mourning the passing of their beloved coach teacher Fred Bracher who died at age of 54. Another teacher from Castle High School, Ronnie Beard shared a disheartening story through a post that reads,” This morning I stopped in my friend’s classroom as I do every day that I teach at Castle High School. He was not there. I later found out he had passed away this morning. We talked in length yesterday about Spring break plans. Fred Bracher has touched so many lives and has been a friend to many. I am missing my dear friend. Rest in Peace Fred Bracher”.

This mishap happened on Thursday, March 10, 2022. The entire high school is shocked after learning the passing of their beloved coach or teacher of the school. He was 54-years-old who taught English at Castle for many years and has been an adjunct English instructor at the University of Southern Indiana since 2009. In the school, he earned the massive respect of the students and the teachers as well. Fred also found success in himself while coaching Castle’s volleyball and boy’s and girl’s track teams. How Did Fred Bracher Die?

Fred Bracher was a track standout who took his graduation from Boonville High School in 1986. While he was continuing to teach at Castle High School, he also served as Castle North Junior High’s volleyball coach. According to the sources, the cause of his death has not been revealed immediately. After Boonville to back-to-back sectional track titles as an athlete in 1985 and 1986, Bracher became a coach of Castle School’s boy’s team to back-to-bacl sectional championships in 2016 and 2017.

During the day, the former Castle athletics director John Evans had some friends and students who contacted him. Because of his experience in the field, he became a coach of the teams. Bracher was also recognized for amazing teaching as he won the Peabody Energy Leader in Education Award. He was nominated by Castle teacher Beth Euler and got a $1,000 check from Peabody.
