It is saddened to announce that Dominican professional baseball starting pitcher, Odalis Perez sadly passed away at the age of 44. He was the left-handed pitcher who gave his entire career to 10 MLB seasons with Atlanta Braves from 1998 to 2022, the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2002 to 2006, the Kansas City Royals from 2006 to 2007, and the Washington Nationals from 2008 to till his last. The player died at the age of 44 after an accident at his home in the Dominican Republic. The sources are believing that he fell down from the ladders in the house and at that time, there was no one in the house except Odalis. The news of his passing was confirmed by Perez’s attorney to ESPN on Thursday. Walin Batista told,” Around 7 PM, his brother Cristian Perez arrived at the house and found Odalis lying in the patio. We don’t know yet the cause of his death, but everything seems to indicate Odalis slipped down a ladder. This is a tragedy”.

Odalis Amadol Perez who is better known as Odalis Perez was born on June 11, 1977, in Las Matas de Farfan, Dominican Republic. He was a graduate of 1995 Damian David Ortiz High School in his homeland. Odalis Jr. Perez is a son of him who participated in community clinics for the Dodgers and the Manny Mota International Foundations.

He played with the Braves in 1998 and he had his first season with the Dodgers in 2002 where he won 15 games and made the All-Star team. In his 10 years of career, he went 73-82 with a 4.46 ERA in 221 starts and 31 relief appearances. Odalis has a major fan following as he had played in many popular teams such as Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City Royals, and Washington Nationals. This sudden incident made everyone upset as it was unexpected for his fans and family. They are broken from inside and going through a difficult time.
