Describing the actor as a ‘gentleman’, Paul shared that Ron passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Paul further wrote that the sadness now is the happiness then and mentioned his grandfather’s birth and death date. As Ron Pember’s grandson shared the disheartening news, The Only Fools and Horses account reposted the message. They wrote that they are saddened to hear the news of the death of the actor who played Baz in the series 3 episode, Homesick. The account wrote that their thoughts and warm wishes go to his family and friends in this hard time. Apart from appearing on Only Fools and Horses in 1983, the actor also starred in Red Dwarf and went on to work as a stage director too.

Later, in the 1970s BBC drama series titled “Secret Army”, Ron played the role of Alain Muny. Proving his endless talents, the 87-year-old actor also wrote a stage musical entitled Jack The Ripper. Aired in 1975, the musical was about the victorian murder spree in London that took place in the late 1880s. Let us add that Ron Pember’s musical is regularly produced by amateur groups and companies across the world.

Born on April 11, 1934, in Plaistow, London, United Kingdom, Ron Pember’s real name was Ronald Henry Pember. However, he was popularly known by his stage name only. Besides being a British actor, Ron was also a director and dramatist. Talking about Pember’s personal life, he tied the knot with Yvonne Tylee in 1959. After suffering a stroke in 1992, the actor retired from the industry and started to live in Southend-on-Sea.
