Is Theuns Jordaan dead? Obituary – cause of death

According to Netwerk24’s report on Friday, South African singer-songwriter Theuns Jordaan was diagnosed with leukemia in September.

Theuns said in an interview with Netwerk24 that the prognosis is “very good” and he is already in remission. However, as part of the treatment, he will receive a stem cell transplant in February.

“Before the diagnosis, I often felt tired for about two to three weeks,” he said, adding that he had to lie down often.A blood test confirmed that he had acute myeloid leukemia, a cancer that originated in the blood-forming cells of the bone marrow.

According to the American Cancer Society, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) starts in the bone marrow (the soft inside of certain bones, where new blood cells are made), but in most cases it also quickly enters the bloodstream.

Jordan was born on January 10, 1971 on Karoo Farm near Ventstad, Eastern Cape. While studying industrial psychology at Stellenbosch University, he gave his first performance at a local bar called The Terrace on October 21, 1992. He began to compose his own lyrics, and thus composed five songs for his first album “Vreemde Stad”.

Theuns attended Volkskool High School in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape. During school, Std 9 and matric played music and sang for local customers in a pizza restaurant/bar called Trail in.

After completing his studies, Jordaan worked as an entrepreneur for a year. In October 1998, he moved from Cape Town to Pretoria, and after becoming popular in the city, he recorded his first album “Vreemde Stad” in Stellenbosch.

The album was released at Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees in Oudtshoorn in 2000. Soon after, EMI released Vreemde Stad, which surpassed the triple platinum record (150,000 copies) in July 2003.

He released his second album, Tjailatyd, at the Aardklop Music Festival in 2002, which also sold more than 150,000 records. South African guitarist Anton L’Amour performed with Theuns and was responsible for all guitar repertoires of Vreemde Stad and Tjailatyd.

Theuns Jordaan’s singing is characterized by his deep bass voice. [3][4] It is said that his music is “a touch of melancholy, suitable for broadcasting”, and his lyrics are “full of sad love for South Africa”
