Born in the central city of Indore on September 28, 1929, Mangeshkar began her career at the age of 13 when her father died and she had to take care of her mother and four siblings.

Five years later, she sang her first song for the movie “Aapki Sewa Mein” (“For You”).

Lata Mangeshkar contracted the coronavirus earlier this month and was taken to hospital on January 9. This isn’t the first time Iyer has dismissed rumors of the famous singer’s ill health. She has previously said, “It’s disturbing to see fake news being spread. Note that Lata DiDi is stable.”

Earlier on Tuesday, a source told indianexpress.com that the 92-year-old singer was showing signs of improvement and started eating solid foods. “Rata Mangushka has been eating solid food since the last few days and is getting better. She is responsive and doing better. She is not on a ventilator,” they said.

Mangeshkar is a well-known singer with over 30,000 songs in many languages ​​and deserves credit. In 1942, she started her career at the age of 13. Known as the Nightingale of India, she also received the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor.
