Wauwatosa-Melissa Ann Kuranz, 52 years old, from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly at home on October 22, 2021. She was born in John (Ruth) Bartuska and Karen (William) Erb in April, and was born on January 25, 1969 in McHenry, Illinois.
She attended Caohu School in Antioch until they moved to Silver Lake, Wisconsin, where she attended Riverview Elementary School. Upon graduation, Melissa was the first recipient of the Gladys Schmalfeldt Academic Award (Valedictorian).
She graduated from Wilmot High School, where she was a cheerleader and member of the military band. Her cheerleader went on to enter the university, where she was a member of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Melissa graduated with honors in 1991, majoring in occupational therapy.
Melissa is an avid sports fan, especially likes the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks. She also likes to travel to Paris and Cozumel in Mexico, where she enjoys scuba diving. She devotes herself to her two sons and plays the role of “mother in the room” every elementary school, participating in every sporting event, band concert, festival concert and open day of their school.
She also likes fishing and reading. She has worked as an occupational therapist at the Wisconsin Orthopedic Hospital for 24 years and is well received by patients.
Melissa’s parents, her sons Simon Christopher and Liam Arthur, her brother Frank (Lisa) Batuska, her aunt Barbara (Stewart) Zelden and her nephew John And Korbatuska survived. Her aunt Lucille (William) Xie Pei before she died
