Who Is Nathan Drew Morgan?
On Friday, the 10th Judicial Circuit Solicitor David Wagner stated his office will not lodge charges against the would-be Good Samaritan. Wagner informed The Journal of Seneca, a newspaper in Williamston, South Carolina that “It was a clear self-defense case”. After being rescued from the 63-degree water, Morgan started arguing with his saver and his girlfriend pushed him back into the lake in a try to defuse the situation, as stated by the office of the Sheriff.
The Investigating officers were informed he may have wanted to get back on the Jet-Ski. The duo on the pontoon aided him aboard again, but Morgan remained hostile and the elderly man shot him, informing the police officials that he worried for the lives of him and his wife. The Oconee County Coroner’s Office stated that Morgan, of Walhalla, passed away on the boat from a gunshot injury to the chest. Sheriff Mike Crenshaw informed the news outlet that Morgan may have been intoxicated. A post-mortem report is still pending.
The investigating officers also believe there may have been an altercation between Morgan and the unrecognized girlfriend he was with prior to them falling into the water the first time. Authorities have rejected to release the name of the couple. As per his obituary, Morgan was a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church and enjoyed outdoor activities such as being on the water and fishing. He is survived by a 10-year-old son.
Pals of the sufferer questioned the circumstances behind the bizarre case. Kelcie Bratton wrote on Facebook that “And…anyone who knew drew knows this is absolute BS. He would not hurt or attack anyone unless HE FELT MENACED!”
Bratton further added that “He would never harm anyone who would attempt to aid him in a situation and I know this first hand. He was a big teddy bear inside but if you harmed anyone he loved or crossed a certain line and stepped at him first he would have concluded it off. He is not here to defend himself and the ones engaged look like they are telling the entire truth behind this.”
