Obituary Mick Rock is dead, Legendary Music Photographer, At 72


Mick Rock is a legendary rock photographer who took iconic photos of David Bowie, Queen, Sex Pistols and others. He has passed away.

He is 72 years old. Locke’s family confirmed the news in a statement on his social media platform.

“We share with the heaviest heart that our beloved psychedelic traitor Mick Rock has embarked on Jung’s journey to the other side.

Those who are lucky enough to live on his track know that Mick will never be more than just “shooting 70 A man of the age”. He is a photographic poet-a true force of nature. He does what he likes to do every day, always in his own delightful and outrageous way,” the statement read.

“Let us not mourn the lost, but to celebrate the wonderful life and extraordinary career of Michael David Rock. When you do this in your own way, we must ask to respect him at this time The privacy of the closest person. Therefore, there will be no further comments,” it continued.

Locke was born in London in 1948 and gained fame in the 1970s for his collaboration with Bowie. He directed videos for Bowie’s songs “John, I’m Just Dancing”, “Let the Fairies”, “A Wonder in Space” and “Life on Mars”. Rock’s photography works are also immortal on the album cover. Lou Reed’s Transformer and Coney Island Baby, Queen’s Queen II, Joan Jett’s I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll and Iggy and The Stooges’ Raw Power were all filmed by Rock.

Rock will also film blondes, Jane’s Addiction, Ozzy Osborne, Snoop Dogg, Stupid Punk, Stone Age Queen, Q-Tip and most recently Miley Cyrus.In addition, Rock also served as the chief photographer of “Rocky Horror Photo Exhibition”. In 2016, Locke published more than a dozen photography books and became the subject of the documentary SHOT!.
