Ravish Tiwari Death Cause, Senior Journalist Dies At 40

National Political Editor and Chief of National Bureau of The Indian Express Ravish Tiwari has sadly passed away. It is coming forward that he died on Saturday morning, February 19, 2022. Ravish was diagnosed with Cancer in June 2020 and was battling the dreaded disease for a long time. Now, the senior journalist died of cancer at the age of 40 and has left his wife and parents behind in profound grief. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to express his condolences to the family. PM wrote that destiny took away Ravish Tiwari too soon.


Narendra Modi called Ravish Tiwari an “insightful and humble” person who had a bright career in the media world. Mr. Modi added that he would enjoy reading his reports and would also periodically interact with him. Apart from him, President Ram Nath Kovind also mourned the editor’s sudden passing. Taking to Twitter, the president wrote that journalism was a passion for Ravish and he chose it over lucrative professions.

How Did Ravish Tiwari Die?

Mr. Kovind said that the 40-year-old had an enviable knack for reporting and incisive commentary and his sudden demise has silenced the distinct voice in news media. Ram Nath offered condolences to his family and colleagues. Other than the prime minister and the president, Express Group Chairman Vivek Goenka, Chief editor Raj Kamal Jha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also paid tributes to the late journalist.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister, called Ravish a “gifted journalist” and wrote that his demise is a big loss to the world of journalism in India. Besides, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur also called Ravish Tiwari a “scholar mind” having deep insights into the socio-political events. He said that Ravish was a thorough professional. Speaking of Ravish Tiwari’s cause of death, it is reported that he died of cancer.

After the first lockdown, the journalist was detected with a very advanced stage of cancer. He battled with the disease for almost two years and continued doing his reporting along the way. However, Ravish lost the battle in the early hours of Saturday. He was reportedly admitted to a Gurugram based hospital where he getting treated. Despite the best possible efforts of the medical staff, Ravish Kumar could not survive and he breathed his last on Feb 19. The entire country is grieving his untimely death and is paying him sincere tributes. May his soul rest in peace!
