People walked into the east entrance of the Tacoma Mall in Tacoma on Saturday afternoon. On Friday, there were multiple shootings in the mall, injuring one person. Officials have not yet announced the identity, location and condition of the injured.
As a victim recovered in a local hospital, the search for the shooter who threatened shoppers in Tacoma Mall on Friday night entered the second day of Saturday.
Tacoma police spokesman Gary Wurges did not provide new information on the search for the suspect who allegedly shot and killed a person. The police did not provide a description of the suspect.
“Everything is the status quo,” Wuges said Saturday morning. “This is an ongoing investigation, and our criminal investigation department has been notified.”
The shooting apparently occurred just after 7pm, after at least two people had a dispute near the food court. As shoppers and employees hid behind closed doors and storage rooms, the mall was immediately sealed off.
The male victim was taken care of by the police who worked in the mall during off hours and heard gunfire. On Saturday afternoon, Wuges said that the victim was taken to a local hospital in a serious but stable condition.
