It is being reported that the popular English actress and singer Sally Ann Howes has passed away. Known for her appearance in the 1968 released film titled “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”, Sally Ann died on Sunday, December 19, 2021. The actress was admitted to a Florida based hospital and took her last breath there. She was 91 at the time of her death which has caused pain to her fans and close ones. Sally Ann Howes’ family confirmed her unfortunate passing. Ann’s son and artist Andrew Hart Adler also went ahead to confirm the news. Andrew shared a post on his Instagram where he wrote that his mother finally reunited with her husband, Douglas Rae, of 48 years and added that his father died passed away at the beginning of this year. The photograph he shared on IG showed him standing next to Howes.

Hart wrote that the photo is from 1967 and that his mother is finally with Douglas. Ann’s nephew Tody Howes confirmed the former’s death too. Besides, Toby Howes wrote that he can confirm the passing of his beloved Aunty who passed away peacefully in her sleep yesterday. He added that he and his brother had thought that Sally Ann would stay with them until the Christmas screening of the musical film “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” but the destiny had something else planned out.

Ever since the news was announced, Sally Ann’s fans are remembering the veteran actress and are paying tributes to her on social media. Born on December 19, 2021, in London in the United States, the actress started her filmy career when she was still a child. She debuted with the 1943 released film Thursday’s Child. The actress then appeared in The Halfway House which was released in 1944. The film led Sally to get the contract under Ealing Studios.

After this, the actress bagged plenty of films that include Micheal Redgrave, Nicholas Nickleby, Mys Sister and I, Vivien Leigh, Pink String and Sealing Wax. She ruled television for over six decades and garnered popularity for her role of Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. She was even nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Musical for a Tony Award. It is really unfortunate to learn about the legendary actress passing. Our prayers go out to her family.
