On July 9 at 11:30 am, two young people lost their lives in a single vehicle accident on County Road 23 south of Victoria Road, Ameliasburgh. Prince Edward County Police Department are still investigating the accident, according to East Region Media Relations Co-ordinator Sgt. Erin Cranton.
The vehicle left the road, went into the ditch, and turned over. On July 9, 19-year-old Justin Crowe and 17-year-old Sarah Bradey both from Ameliasburgh and Belleville respectively, were confirmed dead after their vehicle crashed on County Road 23.
Fire crews, Hastings Quinte Provincial Police, and Reconstructionist investigated the accident. County Road 23 was closed between Victoria Road and County Road 19 for about eight hours. The road has since reopened. Police say that their investigation is still ongoing, with the help of collision reconstructionists. A serious collision happened on this road, between Victoria Road and County Road 19. There is no need for the public to go near the area, and no more updates are available at this time.
