SAD NEWS: Tom Park, Billy Fuccillo‘s sidekick in the HUGE car commercials for years, has died. Park‘s wife made the announcement on Facebook. You may recall, Fuccillo died last year.
Very sad to hear of the passing of advertising personality Tom Park, who along with Billy Fuccillo, created many colorful tv ads. Rest easy Tom.
Tom Park, best known as Billy Fuccillo’s longtime business co-star, died Sunday at the age of 69, according to a Facebook post by his wife.
“My husband Tom Park was married for 48 years, rocked during our prime, had two sons who brought him the greatest joy of his life, proud father of his 5 granddaughters, car AD G.O.A.T., hottest guitarist, puppy fisherman and golfer for his kitty, died of cancer today at 6:21pm. Surrounded by family,” wrote Jenny Lupac.
Tom Parker has spent decades in automotive marketing. According to his LinkedIn profile, Park founded his company Tom Park Media in May 1985.
Soon after, Park and Fuccillo teamed up on a “Huuugggeee” motoring campaign for Syracuse and much of upstate New York.
“The guy he worked with sold big cars. So I knew it would work,” Fusilo told The Associated Press’ Michael Hill in 2002.
In the same 2002 story, the Associated Press reported on Austin, Texas resident Parker, who said he would fly to Syracuse from the Lone Star State and shoot 59 commercials in one day.
Billy Fucillo passed away in June 2021 at the age of 65.
“It is with great sadness that I mourn the loss of a car dealer legend and icon, Mr. Huge, Billy Fuccillo. A great guy and good friend for almost 30 years. You are loved and miss my friend. RIP,” Parker Wrote last June.
There is currently no word on office hours or services honoring Tom Parker’s life. He leaves behind a wife, two sons and five grandchildren.
