The Sopranos star Tony Sirico has paid tribute to his brother online at the age of 79.

The Hollywood actor, who played Peter Paul “Pauli Walnut” Gualtieri in “The Sopranos,” has died, his brother Robert Sirico announced on Facebook.

Robert posted a photo with his brother in a heartfelt tribute, which read: “The family of Gennaro Anthony ‘Tony’ Sirico would like to share with you the news of his passing this morning with great sadness but with incredible Pride, love and many fond memories. May 8. July 2022.

“Tony left behind his two beloved children Joanne Sirico Bello and Richard Sirico, grandsons, siblings, nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

“On Wednesday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m., his brother, Father Robert Sirico, will hold a Christian funeral mass at Regina Pacis Cathedral (1230 65th Street, Brooklyn, NY).

The family is deeply grateful for the many expressions of love, prayers and condolences and asks the public to respect their privacy at this sad time. “

“In his memory, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors, St. Jude’s Hospital and the Acton Institute.”

Tony is best known for his role in The Soprano. He also appeared several times in Woody Allen’s films.

The Hollywood star has played the gangster in films including “Goodfellas,” “Gangster Queen,” “The Mighty Aphrodite,” “Love and Money,” “Finger,” “The Dictator Jury,” “Revolt” and “The Last Stand”

Tony’s “The Sopranos” co-star Michael Imperioli as Christopher Moltisanti also left a warm tribute to the beloved actor.

He wrote: “It is with sadness that my dear friend, colleague and accomplice, the amazing Tony Sirico passed away today. Tony was different: he was as strong, loyal and magnanimous as anyone knew.

“I’ve been spending a lot of time with him: good and bad. But mostly good. We had the funniest laughs at work with my dear friend Tony.

“I will miss him forever. He is truly irreplaceable. Love to his family, friends and his many fans. He is loved and will never be forgotten. Sad today.”
