The Island Boys are in the news yet again and it’s not for their singing skills this time. The twins from Florida feature in Oliver Tree’s latest music video and fans don’t quite understand why.
Rappers Flysoulja and Kodiyakredd went viral on TikTok a month ago for their song, Island Boys. They have gathered an impressive fan following since and become quite the sensations on social media.
However, seeing them in Oliver’s Life Goes On music video was least expected by fans.
Life Goes On remix’s music video features the Island Boys
We have already witnessed the Island Boys’ musical skills but they aren’t using them in Oliver’s video.
The twins don’t sing but appear as gunmen alongside the singer during a Pizza shop burglary.
The rappers don’t have much to do in the song, except walk around the whole time with guns in their hands. This has many wondering what was even the purpose of featuring them in the video.
The music video is directed by Cole Bennett and uploaded by Lyrical Lemonade on YouTube.
Oliver Tree collaborates with Trippie Redd and Ski Mask
Oliver’s new music video features Trippie Redd and Ski Mask.
Having been viewed more than a million times in three days, the latest version is an add-on to renditions from other singers like Clean Bandit, Alok and Ty Dolla $ign.
Oliver rose to popularity after his song, When I’m Down, went viral in 2017. He’s currently signed to Atlantic Records.
He released his debut album Ugly Is Beautiful in 2020 and his single Life Goes On came out in May 2021.
Fans react to the Florida twins’ feature
As usual, social media users have shared varied thoughts about seeing the Island Boys in Life Goes On. Many are wondering why Oliver chose to feature them in his hit track’s remix.
One tweeted, “Threw my phone when Oliver Tree walked out the van with a mullet and the Island Boys”
Another wrote, “I never thought I’d see the day where Trippie Redd, Ski Mask the Slump God, Oliver Tree and the Island boys are all in a Lyrical Lemonade music video together”
“I’m impressed! However, the island boys were not needed,” said another.
