The shooting took place in the 1600 block of Dalewood Avenue.
Witnesses said they heard several gunshots, while many were on the playground with some babies. They said the two men started arguing and then started shooting.
“My kids were on the slide, you know, they were going to fight, and we just heard a few shots. We started running,” Robin Boyd said. “I hid behind a tree.”
Witnesses said they heard four shots on the playground.
“I don’t know what happened. A guy just passed us shooting. Everyone ran. The baby fell,” Brittany Jones said.
It was not immediately clear what the altercation was about, but Memphis police showed up at the playground scene and began searching the neighborhood for the gunman.
