Sharing Emilio Delgado’s death news, his wife Carol said that he died due to blood cancer multiple myeloma, a type of cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. The 81-year-old actor was a Mexican American TV, film, and stage actor. Besides, he was also a voice artist and singer who was best known for his appearance on the children’s television series titled “Sesame Street”.

Emilio had played the role of Luis, the Fix-It shop owner. He had joined the series in 1971 and was a part of the show until his contract was not renewed. Born on May 8, 1940, in Calexico, California, Emilion Delgado was raised in his grandparents’ house in Mexico. Being a citizen of the United States, the actor had to walk daily to attend a public school in California. At the age of 10, Emilio started working odd jobs and worked at his uncle’s bicycle shop at 12.

When Emilio was just a teenager, his family shifted to California. During his high school, he became the president of the Thespian Club in his school. Emilio was a drum major in the marching band and played trombone both in their orchestra and a jazz band. The voice artist began his acting career in 1968. It was that year when he was cast in the first Mexican-American soap opera, “Cancion de la Raza”. Later, he had a guest role in an October 1970 episode “Storefront Lawyers”.

After that, he bagged a role in Sesame Street that garnered enormous popularity. Emilio rose to fame as well and started getting recognized for his appearance in that show. Talking about the actor’s personal life, he had a son named Aram from his previous marriage. He later married Carole in 1989 and the couple had one daughter Lauren. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2020 and at 81, he died from the disease.
