Apart from being a politician from Pakistan, Rafiq Rarar had served as the former judge for Supreme Court. He was also Pakistan’s president from 1997 to 2001. Rafiq was nominated by the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the above-mentioned duration. Before coming into politics, Tarar had served as the Supre Court judge from 1991 to 1994. The politician had actively contributed to the nation by serving on various posts with dedication and honesty.

Born on November 2, 1929, in Mandi Bahauddin, the politician served as the ninth president of Pakistan from 1998 to 2001, until his resignation. He graduated from the University of Punjab in 1951 and earned the degree of LLB. Later, he started practicing as a lawyer in Lahore High Court. Later, in 1966, Rafiq pursued a career as a jurist. He went on to serve as a justice in the highest courts in Pakistan and took retirement at 65.

After becoming a president, Tarar always kept a low profile and avoided news media. He was a devoted servant who respected his country and its citizens.
