Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers failed to win a second Super Bowl ring this year after the Packers were stunned by the 49ers in the NFC divisional game. Unfortunately for the star quarterback, the Super Bowl ring isn’t the only ring he’s lost this winter. According to TMZ Sports, Rogers and his fiancée Shailene Woodley have called off their engagement, ending the relationship after less than two years.
Rodgers and Woodley began meeting in 2020, when the Packers star parted ways with NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. In December, it was rumoured that Woodley and Rodgers had split, but the latest reports suggest the pair have officially called it off.
The pair revealed their engagement to the world back in February 2021, with the Packers QB even expressing a desire to have a baby with Woodley. According to In Touch Weekly, there are rumors that Rodgers has grown cold on marriage prospects and is starting to prioritize his NFL career over his relationship with Woodley. The report suggested Woodley felt Rodgers was “neglected” in their relationship.
Rodgers was embroiled in controversy in November after testing positive for COVID-19, even though he told the NFL and Packers he had been vaccinated. Despite the criticism, Woodley stood up for her then-fiancee and protected him from the hate.
“While Shailene supported Aaron’s career, he put football first and they barely had time together,” a source told In Touch Weekly. “She felt he ignored their relationship. Neither of them were happy.”
The same source described Rodgers as an “independent man” but insisted the two sides would eventually part ways amicably.
