The 36-year-old actress, PORTER magazine’s newest cover star, went public on Monday about showing nude scenes early in her career, making her uncomfortable for fear that if she doesn’t, she’ll miss out on opportunities in Hollywood.

While on-set intimacy coordinators aren’t common, Seyfried says she’s been in the spotlight “almost unscathed” from the start — but still gets embarrassed.

“No underwear at 19 – are you kidding me? How can I let this happen?” the star said. “Oh, I know why: I’m 19, I don’t want to upset anyone, I want to keep my job. That’s why.”

Now, Seyfried tells PORTER that she feels “a respect that I’ve never had” for her acting career. While she’s nominated for a 2021 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for “Mank” and a 2022 Emmy for “Dropout,” Seyfried says it comes down to bigger Confidence.

“It’s not about fame or recognition or good reviews,” she explained. “Whatever it is, it’s not Mank, it’s not The Dropout, it’s not seeing my movies. I’m respected because I’m 36 years old and I know who I really am. Who.”

Before the interview, Seyfried made similar comments in her May cover interview for Marie Claire’s Beauty Changemakers Issue, where she discussed how she was “always terribly disgusted by the male Mean Girls fans.” , these male fans asked her if it rained when she realized her real life. “I’m about 18,” she said of her age, and her first film role was in the teen comedy, which was released in April 2004. “It’s disgusting.”

“So I bought a farm. I guess we went the opposite way,” she said of her upstate New York home with husband, actor Thomas Sadowski and their two young children live there.

For Seyfried, “reputation is weird”, although she feels she “has never been super famous.”

“I’ve always been very recognizable,” she said. “It’s the healthiest trajectory. [It’s] not a scary spike. I have my priorities. I know who I am. I know where I’m going. I know what that means. It means I can do What I love to do. Actually, I’m not afraid anymore.”
