Born on September 11, 1997, in Westport, Connecticut, Julia Marino is an American snowboarder. She mainly competes in Big Air disciplines and slopestyle. In the 2017 X Games that was held at Aspen’s Buttermilk mountain, she had appeared as a rookie and had managed to win gold in Slopestyle. She also secured a bronze medal in Big Air. With that, Julia also became the first female snowboard to win impressive two medals in the history of 17 years.

The fact that Julia won the medals in the same game helped her gain recognition in the sports. Since then, she has not looked back and has continued achieving milestones. Talking about Julia’s gold medal run in X Games Women’s Slopestyle Contest, she became the first female snowboard athlete to land a Cab 900 Double Underflip. The athlete maintained her consistency in the X Games in Hafjell in Norway as well where she clutched a silver in Big Air and went on to win a bronze medal in Slopestyle.

So, in her rookie year, she won a total of four X Games medals which speaks volumes about her gameplay and skills. Overall, Julia has eight podiums in international events that occurred during the 2017-2018 competition season.
