Marianna Podgurskaya, a beauty influencer from Ukraine, is getting slammed by the netizens after Russia accused her of being a crisis actor in the Mariupol maternity hospital bombing that killed three people. Following the horrifying attack, several photographs of the victims surfaced on the internet. Among numerous injured victims, the pregnant influencer was also seen as heavily injured. Russia claimed that the attack was carried out by “neo-nazi” Ukrainians. The Russian embassy in the UK branded the viral photographs as fake news. However, the said post has been deleted from the social media platforms as it was violating the guidelines. For those unversed, the Russian Embassy in the UK had stated that the maternity house was long non-operational.

It was further said that the maternity house was used by Ukrainian armed forces and radicals. They added that it was mainly used by the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion. The Russian embassy went on to say that the beauty blogger having more than 26,500 followers was there in the maternity hospital to shoot Ukrainian propaganda. The embassy claimed that Marianna was not injured during the attack. It was claimed that the blogger was wearing “some very realistic make-up” and even denied that she was present there at the time of the strike.

However, Ukrainian officials have released a statement on Thursday where they gave details on the horrifying attack. They stated that three people died in the attack including a 6-year-old girl and added that at least 17 people got injured. The statement further read that many pregnant women were hiding in the hospital’s basement so they can escape the airstrike and save themselves. Although multiple journalists have debunked the embassy’s claims, the beauty blogger has been receiving backlash on her Instagram.

Podgurskaya’s recent IG post has around 25K comments where netizens are accusing her of taking part in a shameless and fake photoshoot. Let us add that the negative comments are coming from Russians. Apart from the backlash, some of her followers are also urging her to stay strong and are wishing her a calm birth.
