Two police officers were shot dead in Harlem, New York City.

The couple received a domestic violence call about 5:10 p.m. involving a mother and son on West 135th Street.

The gunman is also dead.

The officer’s death is a first for Eric Adams, a former Novice officer who was chosen to fight the city’s soaring crime. Adams was on his way to the hospital, his spokesman said.

According to NBC, they are the fourth and fifth police officers to be shot dead so far this year — compared with 10 officers shot across New York state last year.

The suspect was in a secret room when officers engaged in a fight, police said.

Law enforcement sources told the New York Post that one of the officers was shot in the face.

Jason Rivera (left), who joined the NYPD more than a year ago, was shot Friday night along with his partner Wilbert Mora, who signed in 2018.

Police were taken to Harlem Hospital.

“Due to a police incident, please avoid the area of West 135 Street between Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd and Malcolm X Blvd. The NYPD said.

“Use alternate routes when traveling nearby and expect a police presence in the surrounding area.”

It was the third incident in less than 72 hours involving an NYPD officer being shot and killed in the line of duty, following an incident in the Bronx late Tuesday night and another police officer in Stan early Thursday morning. Don Island was shot.

A Bronx officer has been released from hospital after he was shot in the leg during a scuffle with a teenage suspect.

The officer who was shot in the leg while executing a search warrant in Staten Island underwent surgery at the hospital and is recovering. He is said to be in stable condition, but his injuries are serious.
