The 2-minute video started with a montage of serene scenes of children playing in Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kherson, and other cities prior to pivoting to missile strikes on residential areas. The clip then swings between before-and-after photos viewing the destruction left by the assault. First responders attempting to save bombing sufferers. Women and children are seen crying. Bodies were strewn across the pavement.
The dead bodies were dumped into a channel that served as a makeshift gravesite. In the middle of the tragic montage, a message was featured on the screen. The message reads that “This is a murder”. The video of the destruction concluded with another message: “Close the sky over Ukraine”. Zelensky has continuously called for a no-fly zone, but the United States and other NATO allies have so far opposed the request.

Earlier in his address, Zelensky conjured the worst attack on United States soil while pleading for more military assistance to fight back against the invasion of Russia. Zelensky said that “We need you right now in order to remember Pearl Harbor, the terrible morning of 7th of December, 1941 when your sky was black from the planes attacking you. Just recall, remember the month of September the 11th, a terrible day in the year 2021, when evil attempted to turn your cities, independent territories, into battlefields, when innocent individuals were attacked.
“Just like no one else expected it, you could not stop it. Our country experiences the same every day right now.” As per United Nations, at least 726 civilians, including 64 children, have been assassinated in Ukraine since the 24th of February when the military invasion of Russia started. More than 3 million refugees have run away from the war-torn country.
